Features & Specifications

No β€” you will NOT need to do it again and again. You only need to fix it ONE TIME, correctly.

Right now the problem is simply this:

The Vercel project is connected under the wrong GitHub user.

Because you created the Vercel project, but the repo is owned by someone else β†’ GitHub only sends push events for the owner, not contributors.

Once you connect it properly, everything will work automatically.

βœ… Do this ONE TIME and it will work permanently

βœ” The OWNER must:

  1. Install the Vercel GitHub App (or reinstall)
  2. Connect the repo from THEIR Vercel account, not yours

After the owner connects the repo to THEIR Vercel:

βœ” All pushes from everyone will trigger auto-deploy

  • Owner push β†’ deploy
  • Your push β†’ deploy
  • Contributors β†’ deploy

βœ” You don’t need to do anything again

No reconnect No reinstall No repeating

⭐ BEST FIX (PERMANENT & CORRECT)

Step 1 β€” Owner creates the Vercel project

Owner logs into their Vercel, clicks:

New Project β†’ Import β†’ Select the GitHub repo

Vercel automatically installs webhooks + permissions.

Step 2 β€” You become a Vercel collaborator

Owner adds you in:

Vercel β†’ Project β†’ Settings β†’ Members β†’ Add Member

Now you can deploy, but the repo is owned by the correct GitHub user.

πŸ”₯ Why this works forever

GitHub only sends webhooks to Vercel if:

  • The Vercel project belongs to the same GitHub user or organization who owns the repo.

Right now that’s not true β†’ that’s why contributors’ pushes don’t trigger.

πŸ“Œ If you want, I can tell you EXACTLY who created the current Vercel project

Just send me a screenshot of:

Vercel β†’ Project β†’ Settings β†’ Git

After that, I will give you the correct step based on your setup.
